Article

Articles play a major role in attracting a large audience where you can display information about a product or a service that you provide. It is easy to write Articles on your website to reach out to the world with WebCommander. To start creating your Article, you need to be logged in to your WebCommander account.

Create an Article

Navigation: Go to Web Content > Select Content > Click on Article > Click Create > Insert Details > Click Save.
1. From the Dashboard Click on ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ from drop-down list and Select ‘Article’ from the secondary menu.

2. Click on ‘­­+Create’ button on the following page to create a new Article.

3. Enter ‘Name’ of the Article, for example type in ‘Type of Parrots’ in the Name field.

4. Choose ‘Visibility’ of your choice as ‘Published or Unpublished’ from the drop-down menu.

5.The below ‘Section’ filed is optional. Select ‘Section’ from the drop-down menu.If you would like to select any ‘Section’ of your choice from the drop-down menu, you need to create a ‘Section’ before. You can ‘Create Section’ by the following Navigation: Go to Web Content > Content > Select Section > Click on +Create button. To find more instructions and details go to Section’s Page.

6. Enter ‘Summary’ in the below given Summary box.

7. Enter ‘Content’ in the content field and click ‘Save’ button to save.

8. The following message displayed on the window: ‘Success! Article has been saved successfully’ after a successful save.

Edit an Article

It is possible to edit an Article with the Edit option available in the Action icon of an article. To start editing your Blog you need to be logged in to your WebCommander account.
Navigation: Web Content > Content > Click Article > Click Action on Article > Choose Edit > Insert Information > Click Update.

1. From the Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’ from the menu Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’ from the sub-menu.

2. Select the Article you want to ‘Edit’, Click the circular ‘Action icon’ at the end of that Article.

3. Click on ‘Edit’ option form the drop-down list of options.

4. Insert Information where you want the changes on the ‘Edit Article’ page. Click ‘Update’ to save the changes.

5. The following message will appear on the window: ‘Success! Article has been saved successfully’, after a successful update.

Copy an Article

This ‘Copy’ option in the Article Section of WebCommander is useful to create a duplicate copy of an existing article.
Navigation: From dashboard Click on Web Content > Content > Select Article > Click Action icon > Click Copy

1. From the Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’ from the list.

2. Select the Article you want to ‘Copy’, Click on circular ‘Action icon’ at the end of that Article.

3. Click on ‘Copy’ from the given drop-down options.

4. When you click on ‘Copy’, a duplicate copy of the Article is created and a Message is displayed on the window: ‘Success! Article has been copied successfully’.

Remove an Article

This Option is useful to remove an Article from the existing articles that is no longer needed.
Navigation: Web Content > Content > Select Article > Click Action icon> Click Remove.

1. From the Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’ from the list.

2. Select the Article you want to ‘Remove’, Click the circular ‘Action icon’ at the end of that Article.

3. Click on ‘Remove’ from the drop-down options under the action icon.

4. The following ‘Confirmation’ pop-up window appears on screen to reconfirm your course of action. Click ‘Yes’ to remove the article.

5. The following message appears on the window: ‘Success! Article has been successfully removed’, after removal of the article

Add permissions to an Article

This option is useful to allow or deny access to a selected article or articles. The Permission option is useful to control the misuse of information by other user and the owner of the article or Admin can set these permissions.

Navigation: Web Content > Content > Select Article > Click on Action icon > Click Permission > Check boxes > Update.

1. From the Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’ from the list.

2. ‘Select Article’ to which you want to assign ‘Permissions’, Click the circular ‘Action icon’ at the end of that Article.

3. Click on ‘Permission’ from the given options.

4. A pop-up window: ‘Manage Article Permission’ will appear on the screen with various Permissions. Check the ‘Boxes or Box’ of your choice.

For Example, Check box to ‘Allow Edit and Deny Remove’ and Click ‘Update’.

5. When you click on ‘Update’, the following message displayed on the screen: ‘Success! Permission updated successfully’.

Other Options

If we take a look at the various options available in Article page of Content, there is a All Sections, Search Bar, Advance search Bar, Create, Switch and Reload options.

Filter Article based on All Section

You can filter articles based on All Sections, root and eCommerce to display on the Article page.

1. When you choose ‘All Sections’ from drop-down menu, all article will be shown on the screen.

2. When you choose ‘root’ from the drop-down menu, root articles or the original articles will be shown.

3. When you choose ‘eCommerce’ from drop-down menu, all article with eCommerce under Section will be shown.

Search Bar

The search bar will search a Specific Article by entering the name of the article. This option is extremely useful when you want to perform action on one specific article among 100’s of Articles.

1. Click on ‘Web Content’ on dashboard, Select ‘Content’ from the drop-down menu and Click ‘Article’ from the secondary menu.

2. There are ‘7-Articles’ in the following page. Enter name of the Article you would like to search in ‘Search’ Bar.

3. For example, type ‘Flowers’ and click ‘Search’.  All the Articles with the word ‘Flowers’ in the Article Name will open.

Advanced Search

Advanced search option is used for more specific and accurate search. This option is useful when there are hundreds of articles and want to get one specific article. Advanced Search option filters all the articles to output an accurate result.

1. From Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’.

2. The following page has ‘7-Articles’ in total. Click on ‘Advanced Search’.

3. After you Click Advance Search button ‘Advance Search – Article’ pop-up window will appear on screen.

Enter all the fields for a more accurate result and Click ‘Search’.

4. When all the details entered in the advanced search will match to an Article, that article will be displayed on the Articles window.

Actions

Manage article owner permissions using Actions drop-down menu to change the owner permissions to the article.

1. Click on ‘Actions’ and select ‘Manage Article Owner Permission’.

2. Check boxes on the pop-up ‘Manage Owner Permissions’ window, to specify permissions to the Owner of the Article

Switch

This option allows you to switch between views. The Switch option is used to switch between Article view, Explorer view, Snippet view and Section view.

Navigation: Web Content > Content > Article > Click Switch > Select Section List or Article List or Explorer View.

1. From Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’.

2. When you go to Switch and Click on ‘Section List’, the following page will open.

3. When you go to Switch and Click on ‘Article List’, the following page will open.

4. When you go to Switch and Click on ‘Explorer View’ the following page will open.

Reload

This Option is used to reload any window.

Navigation: Go to Web Content > Content > Article > Click Reload

1. From Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’.

2. Click on ‘Reload’ to reload a window

Single or Multiple Selection

This option used to select single/multiple Article to perform an action.

Navigation: Go to Web Content > Content > Article > Check Box/Boxes.

1. From Dashboard go to ‘Web Content’, Select ‘Content’ and Choose ‘Article’.

2.  When Articles window open ‘Check Box/Check Boxes’ available on the left–most side of any article.

Upload Article into Webpage

To upload Article on to Webpage

Navigation: Go to Web Content> Select Page >

1. Select ‘Web Content’ from dashboard and Click on ‘Page’

2. Click on the circular ‘Option menu’ and Click on ‘Edit content’.

3. ‘Select Article’ from the following page from left Widget. Drag Article from the left-widget and Drop
Article into the right-hand Grid. Make sure you select the right article.

View in Site : When you click this option, the article will open on internet.

Save: This allows you to save the content and settings you made in the Edit Content page.

4. Click on ‘Settings’ tab and enter the details

Enter a ‘Title’.

Enter the ‘Class Name’.

Turn the switch to ‘Show Article Title’

Select display option from the three given options: ‘Full Article’, ‘Article Summary’ and ‘Summary with Link’.

Click on ‘Select Article’ to select more articles.

The following ‘Article Widget Configuration’ opens when click on ‘Select Articles’. Select the articles and ‘Save’ Changes.

5. The Following page open when you click save and Click ‘Save’ on the top right corner.
